Parent Coaching via Telepractice

In a new study, CSMRE faculty affiliate, Jay Ganz, worked with colleagues to examine ways to coach parents of Latinx children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. They focused on telepractice-based coaching, using culturally responsive training. The end goal was to improve communications between the parents and children with ASD. According to the authors, “findings indicate that the use of multimodal communication intervention via telepractice parent coaching showed promising results. We can conclude that this approach can be a beneficial tool to help family members improve communication for bilingual children with autism spectrum disorder.”
